Food safety and good sanitary practices continue to be the focal point for all food service inspections.  生食的交叉污染, unnecessary manual handling of all foods by food handlers and improper holding temperatures are risk factors for foodborne illness.

All Lac du Flambeau food service facilities are inspected twice a year or more often as deemed necessary for follow-up.

Public law 86-121 allows the Indian 健康 Service to assist members of Federally recognized Native Tribes in obtaining a potable drinking water supply and a safe means of disposing of waste water for their home use, provided that funds are available and that the homes meet basic standard of living requirements (well insulated, 有电, 室内管道, 等.).

The Lac du Flambeau Sanitarian services as the 彼得·克里斯坦森 健康中心 / 社区卫生 Department 公共卫生认证协调员.

In 2018, the Lac du Flambeau PCHC 社区卫生 Department Public 健康 Accreditation Team developed a report with the intent of sharing information about the overall 健康 of the Lac du Flambeau Community. 该报告包括人口统计信息, 健康 factors and lifestyle behaviors that impact 健康 and quality of life. The data that has been collected is specific to the Lac du Flambeau Community. A copy of the report can be requested by contacting the 社区卫生 Department.

The Public 健康 Accreditation Board (PHAB) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing the continuous quality improvement of Tribal, 状态, 地方和地区公共卫生部门.

The Lac du Flambeau Sanitarian services as the 彼得·克里斯坦森 健康中心 安全官 and a member of the PCHC Infection Control & Safety Committee and the PCHC Emergency Management Committee.

The 安全官 works to reduce or minimize those factors in the work environment which may have an adverse impact on 健康, 安全和福祉.

• Provide an awareness of acceptable safety practices in the working environment by providing periodic instruction to workers on selected safety subjects, arrange for and participate in routine fire and safety drills, and explain and encourage the use of safety devices and equipment.
• Implement and conduct annually and as needed fit testing and training for all 彼得·克里斯坦森 健康中心 (PCHC) employees expected to wear an N95 respirator.
• Implement and conduct as needed investigations of significant exposures.

井水取样 & 测试

Tribal members may request individual well water sampling for annual or investigation testing. Requests may be made by contacting the Lac du Flambeau Sanitarian for services. Samples are tested by the Wisconsin State 实验室 of Hygiene and include testing for bacteria, 硝酸盐, 铁和其他人在个案基础上.
